Born in a family of musicians in Romania, I had my first taste of the violin at age 4. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the beautiful sound of my instrument and at age 12 I won my first national prize. I began my musical studies with Stefan Gheorghiu, a former David Oistrakh pupil, and after being a prize recipient at the Jeunesse Musicales and Remember Enescu international competitions I had my first solo engagements with the Romanian National Symphony and the Bucharest Philharmonic.

In 2000 I was fortunate enough to appear as a soloist and chamber player at the World Exposition Summit in Hannover, Germany, followed by a tour through France and Italy with the Lyceum Strings chamber symphony, both as a soloist and principal player.

I completed my undergraduate degree at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Masao Kawasaki and Lewis Kaplan, after which I was awarded the Eugenia and David Ames Concertmaster Fellowship at the Mannes School of Music and performed in major halls such as Alice Tully, The Morgan Library and Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall. I also participated in several music festivals, including the Mozarteum Academy in Salzburg and the Texas Music Festival, where I was a prize recipient at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Young Artist Competition. Most recently, I became a member of the Breckenridge Music Festival where I perform as an orchestral and chamber player during the festival’s summer series.

After completing my studies, I joined the New World Symphony where I had the opportunity to serve as concertmaster under the baton of Michael Tilson Thomas and Esa Pekka Salonen, among others. I am currently serving as the assistant concertmaster of the Richmond Symphony.
