Step into an evening of Baroque brilliance as CMSCVA presents a dialogue between two of history’s greatest musical minds, Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Philipp Telemann. We feature Bach’s The Musical Offering, a labyrinth of canons and fugues originally crafted to dazzle the King of Prussia with its sheer inventive genius. Complementing Bach’s rigorous complexity are the premiere of a new puzzle canon by Richmond-born composer Niccolo Seligman, and selections from Georg Philipp Telemann’s celebrated Paris Quartets. Together, these masterpieces illuminate the cosmopolitan spirit of the 18th and 21st centuries, offering a night of refined interplay and timeless inspiration.
